El Viroleño

This is hands down at the top of my list for favorite restaurants in Tallahassee!! Their food is phenomenal! It is a local family owned restaurant and I have been eating here for many years. My first time was at their Tennessee Street location. I love the Bistec Encebollado. Also، the Papusas and Curtido and hot sauce are so flavorful! We have always had great meals there. The portion size is healthy. Keep cooking that great food!!! We'll definitely be back!!

The staff is kind and courteous. Two sisters and a mother run it with a smile and really know how to please the customer. The power went out in the whole plaza when I was there and yet they seemed fazed not. The food and smiles kept coming. El personal es amable y cortés. Dos hermanas y una madre lo atienden con una sonrisa y saben cómo complacer al cliente. Se fue la luz en toda la plaza cuando estuve allí، y aun así، no parecieron inmutarse. La comida y las sonrisas no se hicieron esperar. They helped me out when I was down and needed a mental/spiritual/gastronomical boost. I was treated like a king without even knowing me. I am SO impressed with the staff، food and menu items that if I could I would give them 9 1/2 stars out of five. But alas... I cannot. Come to Northampton Plaza on Kerry Forest Parkway and try some different، delicious Latin cuisine.

I went there with a party of six. The Salvadoran food was to die for. I ordered the big platter which has chicken shrimp and steak. All were great. Love the puréed beans. My wife ordered Mexican food، tacos. Do not order Mexican food. This is not a Mexican restaurant. If you want Mexican food go to a Mexican restaurant. But the Salvadoran food is wonderful. People were really nice، service was excellent. Will definitely return.

i’ve been coming here for a couple years and they never disappoint ، i always get the yuca and chicharrón then an order of pupusas revueltas with a side of rice and beans and it’s always so delicious ، definitely one of my favorites and i reccomend trying all these dishes atleast once. you are missing out if you don’t!

We really enjoyed El Viruleño during our monthly Friends، Fun، and Food Meetup. The restaurant، small and family-owned، welcomed our group of 10 with warmth. The highlight was undoubtedly the Papusas meal، our group favorite. Freshly made and served with beans and rice، it delighted everyone. Also، the Pollo Guisado —a succulent chicken leg cooked in a flavorful tomato-based sauce- was delicioso!. We appreciated the option to swap beans for fried plantains. The friendly and knowledgeable server made our dining experience even better، and we enjoyed exploring the updated menu (as of Feb. 24 see Photos) with its periodic changes. One delightful surprise was the chance to practice Spanish as some Specials lacked translations. Overall، El Viruleño offers delicious Salvadorian & Central American cuisine in a cozy atmosphere.. We highly recommend checking it out!
