This policy explains what information Local Florida Directory collects, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.
Last updated: January 1, 2025.
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect and use your personal information when you use our products and services, including our website, mobile experience, and communications such as emails, notifications, and messages (together, the “Service”). “We,” “us,” and “Local Florida” refer to Florida Local Directory Service Inc. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given to them in our Terms of Service.
The Service is currently offered to users located in the United States. If that changes, we will update this policy to reflect how we handle personal information for users elsewhere.
We process your personal information for a range of purposes connected to the Service, including to: provide the Service's core functionality; fulfill requests you make, like a quote request or account change; improve and personalize the Service; conduct research and analysis on how the Service is used; pass along your feedback to businesses listed on the directory; provide customer support; communicate with you; maintain backups of our systems and data; strengthen the security of the Service; and comply with our legal obligations.
We collect and store information about your use of the Service, such as your searches, the pages and listings you view, the date and time of visits, and any transactions or requests you make. We use this activity to personalize the Service — for example, to suggest a default location or more relevant search results.
We collect information your browser or device provides, such as browser type and language, device type, IP address, approximate location derived from your IP address, and the pages that referred you to the Service. If you use the Service across multiple devices, this information may be combined so your experience is consistent across all of them.
We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies (like local storage) to operate the Service, keep you signed in, remember preferences such as a saved location, understand usage, and measure performance. We use the following categories:
We do not control cookies set by third-party platforms you may reach through the Service (for example, an embedded map). Those parties' use of cookies is governed by their own privacy policies. You can manage cookies through your browser settings and, on your first visit, through the cookie banner; blocking essential cookies may affect features like staying signed in.
If you sign in using a third-party account, we receive basic profile information — such as your name, email, and avatar — from that provider.
In some cases we collect information on behalf of a business — for example, when you request a quote, we collect your contact details in order to pass the request to that business. We do not use information collected in this role for purposes beyond fulfilling your request, unless otherwise described in this policy or at your direction.
Vendors who support the Service — such as our hosting and database provider, payment processor, mapping provider, and email delivery service — may share certain information with us, like delivery status or fraud-prevention signals, in the course of providing their services.
Visitors to the Service may be able to identify you, or associate you with your account, if you include personal information in the content you post publicly — for example, in a review or photo. You can reduce this risk by using the Service under a display name that doesn't identify you personally, though doing so may affect how credible your contributions appear to others.
Messages you send or receive through the Service are only as private as both you and the recipient keep them — a person you message can choose to share what you sent. We may access, review, and disclose messages in connection with an investigation into misuse of the Service or to improve it.
We may use automated tools and machine learning to operate and improve the Service — for example, to help detect spam, fake reviews, and other abuse; to rank and personalize search results; and to help business listings surface accurately in third-party AI-powered search assistants and answer engines (sometimes called AI or answer-engine optimization). We do not currently use your personal contributions to train third-party generative AI models.
You can close your account at any time from your account settings, or by contacting us. When you close your account, we remove or dissociate your public posts from your profile, but may retain information for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. You can separately request that we delete the personal information associated with your account; contact us using the details below to make that request. Business listings, ratings, and reviews are not removed by a business owner closing their account.
We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes it was collected, or as otherwise required or permitted by law — for example, to resolve disputes or enforce our agreements.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and the Service is not directed to children. Use of the Service by anyone under 13 is not allowed. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information without parental consent, we will take steps to remove it and close the associated account. Contact us to report suspected use of the Service by a child.
We use technical and organizational safeguards — including encryption in transit and access controls — to protect the personal information we process. No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, so while we work to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we can't guarantee its absolute security.
You can reach us online concerning this Privacy Policy, or any request about your personal information, at ducct.quangbinh@gmail.com or through our Contact page. For security purposes, we may take reasonable steps to confirm your identity before completing a request or sharing personal information with you.
We may modify this Privacy Policy from time to time. The version posted here governs our collection, use, and disclosure of your information. If we make material changes, we'll update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through a notice on the Service before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change becomes effective means you accept the revised policy.
We do not sell your personal information, and won't do so in the future without giving you notice and the opportunity to opt out, as required by law. We do not offer financial incentives in exchange for your personal information, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain uses of it. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in the section above — we may need to verify your identity before completing your request.
We do not disclose your personal information to third parties for the purpose of directly marketing their own goods or services to you, unless you ask us to. Section 3 (Data You Share With Us) describes the categories of information we collect in more detail, and Section 6 (Data We Share With Third Parties) describes who we share it with and why.
