Gulf Coast Sourdough Sandwich House

It’s busy here and for good reason! The sandwiches tasted so fresh and the combinations were so creative. There’s fresh bread being sold along with lots of nice looking treats. The vibes inside are also super fun and creative.

We looked up this sandwich shop after enjoying their fabulous Nut & Seed Sourdough Bread that we purchased while visiting the St. Pete farmers market a few years ago. To this day، and with all of our travels، we still haven't found a better seeded loaf. The bread was heavy and studded with seeds and nuts. We froze part of it and used it for toast and sandwiches over the next month and luckily، I had taken a picture of the loaf and knew how to find them، since they weren't at the farmers market any more. We took a long work week lunch break a few days before Christmas and drove to the small neighborhood sandwich shop and bakery in Tampa. There's limited seating inside and a few tables flanking the door on the covered porch out front. By lunchtime، there were only a couple of loaves of fresh bread left، but there were still baked goods in the case by the order counter. We purchased a frozen loaf of the Seed & Nut bread and a fat، high gluten chop chip sourdough cookie. Very friendly counter service and a short line، which gave us enough time to choose our type and bread options for the pressed sandwiches. We chose a BST (bacon، spinach and tomato) on Seed & Nut bread. Face palm. I only thought it through after that I could've chosen my other favorite Rosemary bread for my sandwich، but I was really focused on the Nut & Seed acquisition. My husband chose the Egg، Bacon and Spinach sandwich on the very unique Turmeric Black Pepper bread، which I've never seen as an option anywhere else. We enjoyed our lunch on the porch after about ten minutes of prep time، which was incredible، since we went right at peak lunch time. Our sandwiches were very good، with lots of bacon and very fresh spinach. The layers and fresh bread came together perfectly in both creations and were well worth the drive over from St. Pete. I'd highly recommend this sandwich shop and bakery and I'm so glad I had the bread label as a reminder of that great loaf from a few years ago. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 stars

I ordered a Bacon، Spinach & Tomato sandwich from Gulf Coast Sourdough Sandwich House through DoorDash and when it arrived it did not have any spinach or tomato on it at all. Those are literally two of the main ingredients of the sandwich. This wasn’t a delivery issue — DoorDash only delivers the food. The restaurant prepares the order، so the mistake happened in the kitchen. It’s really disappointing to receive a sandwich missing key ingredients you paid for. Attention to basic order accuracy should be expected، especially when ordering a specific menu item. I hope they improve their quality control so this doesn’t happen to other customers.

Incredible food! We got two sandwiches، the special which was a chicken and caper with vinaigrette، and the BST، bacon spinach and tomato. And two cinnamon rolls. Everything was so good، we’re talking about it the next day! Will be back!

I stopped by Gulf Coast Sourdough Sandwich House for the first time and it definitely won’t be my last! From the moment I walked in، the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming، which made the experience even better. The sourdough bread was absolutely amazing fresh، soft، and full of flavor. You can really taste the quality. The sandwich ingredients were also super fresh and everything came together perfectly. It’s clear they take pride in what they make، and it shows in every bite. If you love great sandwiches and real sourdough bread، this place is a must-try. Highly recommend!
