We were in downtown and wanted to pick up sourdough bread for the week، so we searched around our area and found JB3 Dough Joe. The parking was right in their bakery parking lot. When we stepped inside the store، we loved all the things they were selling. One could tell they were made fresh by the smell. We found some sourdough bread that was fresh too! It wasn't too expensive، and we really enjoyed the taste.

Dough Joe Bread is one of those places that quietly raises the bar for what good bread should be in Tampa. This is not a flashy bakery and it doesn’t try to be trendy for the sake of it—the focus here is clearly on craft، quality، and consistency. From the moment you step inside، the smell alone tells you this is real bread made with time and intention، not shortcuts. The sourdough is the standout. It has a deep، developed flavor with a properly fermented crumb and a crust that’s crisp without being overly hard. It’s the kind of loaf that works just as well plain as it does toasted، and it holds up beautifully with spreads، soups، or sandwiches. You can tell the fermentation is done right—there’s complexity without sourness being overwhelming. The rotating selection keeps things interesting، especially if you visit regularly. What also makes Dough Joe special is that everything feels deliberate. The menu isn’t massive، but that’s a strength. Instead of trying to offer everything، they do a few things exceptionally well. Pastries and specialty items sell out quickly، which says a lot about demand and quality. Going earlier in the day is smart if you want the full selection. The atmosphere is simple and focused، and the staff are friendly without being performative. It feels like a neighborhood bakery that happens to be excellent، not a place chasing hype. Dough Joe Bread is a must-visit for anyone who genuinely appreciates well-made bread and thoughtful baking. It’s the kind of spot that turns first-time visitors into regulars.

I stock up four-loaves at a time. The 96-hour fermented sourdough loaves sell out fast because they’re amaaazing! 🍞💕 Lots of Vegan and Gluten Free options.

We had the vegan pizza، almond croissant، plain croissant، and sourdough bread. Everything was excellent and so worth the trip. I’m not vegan and the vegan cheese on the pizza was not my favorite، it wasn’t bad either. Staff was super friendly and talkative. They gave great advice for the sourdough starter we purchased. We’ll be back for sure!

A quaint little shop with AMAZING fresh baked good. Try the poptizzle، I'm SURE you will never want Poptarts again!!! Lots of great، interesting، condiments like tomato jam and artisinal honey، olive oil، etc. Get in line BEFORE THEY OPEN because it's worth the wait!
