Was having issue with my 16 year old Toyota this past weekend. My husband can usually figure things out but was not getting this one، we are new here and do not have a mechanic read reviews for here and have it a shot. Great communication، timely service، and overall I was happy with my experience، with one minor caveat. I brought my older 4Runner in for a rear main seal replacement and provided a short list of additional items I wanted inspected while the transmission was out. They completed everything I requested and kept me informed throughout the process. This part is partly on me: I should have specifically asked to see the rear main seal before installation because I wanted a Toyota OEM seal. Since I didn't clarify that beforehand، I'm not holding it against the shop. However، when I later asked if there was any documentation or receipt confirming the part used، I was told، "I'm not showing you my receipt." I understand shops may not want to share supplier invoices، but based on past experiences where I've paid for OEM parts and later found out aftermarket parts were used، that's why I asked. By no means am I accusing them of any wrongdoing though and I should have asked prior I guess. The flip side to this is shops get annoyed at that too. Because the seal is buried behind the transmission and impossible for me to verify after the fact، I would have appreciated some form of confirmation for my own peace of mind.
