Red Gill Bistro Galentines

Staying next door at the Wyndham، we went to The Red Gill Bistro for dinner. It was delicious! My husband ordered the brisket dinner with collard greens and cole slaw. I ordered the fried fish dinner with collard greens and Mac and cheese. They were both excellent! The small staff were welcoming and friendly. A unique place. Would definitely recommend.

I recently heard about this place and had to try it and I have to say، the decor was absolutely adorable! The space was full of charm، with a whimsical bubble snow machine that added a fun، festive touch to the atmosphere. It really set a cozy، magical vibe. The food prices were surprisingly reasonable، and everything we ordered was tasty. However، the fries were a bit of a letdown—they were very salty، almost to the point of being overwhelming. That said، the rest of the dishes were delicious and well-seasoned. The drinks، though، were quite good but definitely on the pricier side. While they were well-crafted and enjoyable، they might not be the best option if you're watching your budget. Overall، it’s a great spot for a fun atmosphere، good food، and tasty drinks، though you might want to skip the overly salty fries!

Dear Management، I am writing to formally share a disappointing experience I had at Red Gill Bistro in Jacksonville located at 4660 Salisbury Rd on the night before Valentine’s day. At 7:17 PM، I placed a to-go order for the Carrot Persuasion Cake using the in-restaurant kiosk. I was aware the restaurant was hosting a private event and expected a reasonable wait. However، after more than 30 minutes with no update، I politely inquired about the status of my order. The response I received was unexpectedly dismissive. A member of the kitchen staff stated he had 100 people to serve and several orders ahead of mine، speaking in a tone that suggested my inquiry was inappropriate. Rather than offering a timeframe or courtesy explanation، he indicated he would simply refund my order. When the refund was processed، I was initially given $14.26، despite my receipt reflecting $17.26. Upon calmly presenting the receipt، I was met with a cold and accusatory explanation about portal fees. While the full amount was ultimately returned، the interaction was unnecessarily unpleasant and unprofessional. I understand that busy nights can create pressure. What should never be compromised، however، is basic courtesy and professionalism. This situation escalated over a simple slice of cake — not because of the wait itself، but because of how the interaction was handled. I believe strongly that customer service is revealed most clearly during high-volume moments. Unfortunately، this experience has caused me to reconsider returning. Disappointed‼️ Although، I had a lovely stay at the Wyndham، I wake up this morning deciding I want to try The Red Gill، from what I saw online the food looks amazing. I ordered the shrimp and Grits. Thats literally what I received Shrimp and Grits. No sauce، no season، just plain shrimp and UNDERCOOKED grits. GRITS FELT LIKE I WAS EATING SAND Maybe this was an honest mistake which I could understand but nonetheless I’m disappointed!

Group of 4 ordered pork، chicken and beef dinners. Absolutely delicious. The bbq sauce is outstanding along with the sides of mac n cheese، potatoes& green beans. The corn was a bit salty but yummy. The greens were just made but I got and if set for another day، should me of the best I I’ve ever had. This place needs to be noticed!!!!
