The Getaway Grille and Bar

Stopped at The Getaway Grille and Bar while traveling on I-10 and were pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent! Jody greeted us with a warm welcome and immediately made us feel at home. Michael was our server and was incredibly accommodating and attentive throughout the meal. We loved the entire team—they truly made us feel like family. The grouper nuggets were outstanding—fresh، flavorful، and perfectly cooked. The Philly cheesesteak was hearty and delicious (pics don’t do it justice)، and the sidewinder fries were hot، crispy، and seasoned just right. Dee and Jr were the cooks، and it was obvious they took pride in their work. Everything came out quickly، piping hot، and absolutely delicious. This is a fantastic alternative to fast food when you want a quality meal and quick stop right off I-10. We finished with the Peanut Butter Explosion for dessert، and it was the perfect sweet ending to a wonderful meal. Highly recommend!

We stumbled across The Getaway Grille on a whim while passing through Tallahassee on our way home—and wow، what a find! 🙌 I originally picked it because they offered grilled chicken and had a solid variety on the menu، but it ended up being so much more than just a convenient stop. It was one of those “we need to remember this place” kind of meals. We started with the buffalo chicken egg rolls and ranch dip—crispy، flavorful، and downright addictive. Seriously، I could’ve made a whole meal out of those alone. 🔥 Then the entrees came out… and that’s when things got real. The cheesesteak? Absolutely incredible. Packed with flavor، perfectly cooked، and paired with sweet potato fries that were just chef’s kiss. My husband ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with sidewinder fries، and let me tell you—not a single bite disappointed. Everything was hot، fresh، and ridiculously good. I even went back for the leftovers later that night—and still couldn’t get enough. Not a fry was left behind. 😄 If you’re anywhere near Tallahassee، do yourself a favor and stop here. Total hidden gem. 💎

Great little spot just off north monroe the Getaway Grille is a must stop I ended up here because word on the street was this was the place for the best grouper sandwich in the city so I had to go see for my self I went with the fried grouper with some bacon cheese tater kegs and ill say everything came out fresh out the fryer. The picture says everything if you want a Amazing grouper sandwich id vote best in the city then the getaway is the spot . With live bands and a beer garden its a prime spot to meet of with friends and family and the atmosphere say "welcome in" added to my list of regular spots for sure !!! Tried the blackened grouper sandwich . You just cant miss with this choice !

Today was our first time in Tallahasse and we wanted a good place to eat. We looked at several restaurants، and the Getaway stood out to us. We were seated fairly quick and our waiter Jordan was extremely efficient، he made sure to check on us consistently، and he was super nice. You can tell he cares about the customers، and it's very rare to find that now a days، the food was also delicious. I ordered the firebird and my husband ordered the classic burger and everything was cooked to perfection. This is definitely a place we will go back to next time we're in Tallahassee.

We entered the restaurant and were told by bartender to pick any table. There were people seated at 3 tables in the whole place and 4 people seated at the bar. We were greeted by our server promptly and received our drinks. I watched one server (not ours) finish her shift and leave after closing out 2 of the 3 tables with people. Our server closed out the other table. I was noticing all of this because we were waiting and waiting and waiting to place our orders. Then a family of 4 came in. Our server got their drinks. Then got their order…. still hasn’t taken our order. We were aggravated but remained patient. Our order was taken and we watched the table that came in 20 minutes after us get their food. Still patient. After waiting an hour، we received our food. One burger was ordered medium rare and one was ordered medium… both were well-done. My chicken sandwich was barely even chicken. You can see the picture. Very little of the sandwich had actual meat. That very small bit of meat was not good at all. It was thin، dry، chewy… overcooked. The steak fries were great!
